The patient was a 49-year-old male on HAART with a serum CD4 count of 49 cells/μl. A FLAIR sequence shows a hyperintense lesion in the right temporal lobe and diffuse brain atrophy (c) in a 30-year-old female on HAART with a serum CD4 count of 15 cells/μl. Lack of contrast enhancement suggests progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. She died 2 weeks later
